There are tales of Middle-earth from times long before The Lord of the Rings. The story told in this book is set in the great country that lay beyond the Grey Havens in the West: lands where Treebeard once walked, but which were drowned in the great cataclysm that ended the First Age of the World.
The story follows the fate of the family of Húrin, a great hero of Men who defied the Dark Lord Morgoth in the First Age of Middle-earth. Húrin's children, Túrin and Nienor, are subjected to a series of tragic events orchestrated by Morgoth, leading to their eventual downfall.
Túrin, the protagonist of the tale, becomes embroiled in a series of misfortunes and tragedies, including exile, betrayal, and ultimately, his own death. Throughout his life, he grapples with his destiny and the curse that seems to follow him wherever he goes.
