"Last Argument of Kings" delivers a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, tying up loose ends while leaving room for interpretation and reflection.
The story continues to follow the characters introduced in the previous books: Logen Ninefingers, a feared warrior with a troubled past; Sand dan Glokta, a bitter and cynical former swordsman turned torturer for the Inquisition; Jezal dan Luthar, a vain and self-absorbed nobleman; and Bayaz, a powerful wizard with his own agenda.
In "Last Argument of Kings," the Kingdom of the Union is facing threats from within and without. War looms on multiple fronts, with political intrigue, betrayal, and power struggles complicating matters further. As the fate of the kingdom hangs in the balance, the characters are forced to confront their own demons and make difficult choices in order to survive.
