A wonderful storyteller. The combination of art, death and small town secrets makes for a sinister, complex tale that I could not put down. I've loved all of Aoife's books but I think this is the best yet.
The narrative unfolds as Charlie becomes embroiled in the case of a local teenager, Jonty, who is accused of murdering his stepfather. Charlie finds herself entangled in the secrets and tensions of the tight-knit community, as she delves deeper into the case to uncover the truth. Along the way, she must confront her own troubled past and the dark secrets that she thought she had left behind.
Aoife Clifford's "When We Fall" is praised for its atmospheric setting, intricate plot twists, and complex characters. The novel keeps readers on the edge of their seats as they follow Charlie's journey through a web of lies, deception, and betrayal. It's a gripping psychological thriller that explores themes of justice, redemption, and the consequences of our actions.
